Getting started with TaKo Studio

A new account starts empty on purpose — here's the order that gets you sending real proposals fastest.

1. Set up your branding

Go to Studio → Branding and add your logo, brand color, and a PDF template choice (your plan determines which templates are available). This is what your clients actually see on every proposal and invoice, so it's worth doing first.

While you're there, fill in your About text (a short studio bio shown on proposals) and your default cover note and default terms & conditions — write these once and every new proposal starts with them pre-filled. See Branding your studio for the full walkthrough.

2. Set your rate card

Go to Studio → Default Pricing and enter your per-role rates — Candid Photographer, Traditional Photographer, Candid/Traditional Videographer, Drone, LED Screen, Live Streaming, and price per photobook sheet. Once this is set, every new proposal's events price themselves automatically from it — you can still override any line to a manual price when a job needs a one-off rate. Details in Setting up your rate card.

3. Add your payment details

Go to Studio → Payment Settings and add your bank details and the payment modes you accept (UPI, Cash, Bank Transfer, etc.) — these print on your invoices so clients know how to pay you. You can also set a default payment schedule (e.g. Booking amount, First payment, Second payment) that pre-fills on every new proposal. See Payment settings.

4. Send your first proposal

Go to Proposals → New Proposal, add the client's details, add one or more events with their dates, and the pricing fills itself in from your rate card. Download the branded PDF and send it however you normally do — WhatsApp, email, or in person. Full steps in Creating and sending proposals.

5. Once it's accepted

Mark the proposal Accepted and it automatically becomes an invoice you can record payments against — nothing needs to be re-entered. Its events also appear on your Booking Calendar on the Dashboard right away. See Invoices and recording payments and The event calendar.

Tip: none of this has to be perfect before you start. Branding, rates, and payment settings can all be changed anytime — they only affect proposals created after the change, so nothing you've already sent is altered.
